We couldn't be more excited to tell you that WESTERLIES FEST is coming to Seattle in just two weeks, September 20-23, 2018.
We have incredible lineups in store each night, and you are invited!
On Thursday, September 20th, we'll kick things off with a free concert at Wing Luke Museum featuring poet Troy Osaki and an exciting lineup of YouthSpeaks poets, including 2018 Seattle Youth Poet Laureate Azura Tyabji.
Things continue on Friday, September 21st at Seattle Pacific University with a double bill featuring TORCH, a contemporary chamber music ensemble that bridges the gap between classical music, tango, and jazz.
Saturday, September 22nd features a blowout night at First Free Methodist Church featuring our two most beloved NYC-based collaborators: singer/songwriter Kate Davis and vocalist Theo Bleckmann. Kate will open the evening with a solo performance, followed by our new collaboration with Theo entitled Songs of Refuge and Resistance (want to hear a sneak peek? Click HERE!).
We close the festival on Sunday, September 23rd with free a concert featuring our workshop students, who will be studying composition, improvisation, and ensemble playing with us all weekend long. Oh, and we've got some new music to premiere that evening as well...
