Happy New Year!
We could not have asked for a better 2018, and 2019 is already off to an exciting start. Last week we played to a sold-out crowd in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the culminating concert of the Young Performers Career Advancement program at the APAP conference. We were lucky to be selected to participate in the program, wherein we spent five incredible days learning about the future of the performing arts industry from experts in the field. And what better way to cap it all off than with our Carnegie debut?
However, even more exciting than playing Carnegie Hall is the extraordinary support we received for our 2018 annual campaign - we are pleased to announce that we surpassed our $10,000 donation match challenge! THANK YOU for your support. Each and every one of you who made a donation ensured that we can keep our music and our mission alive. We are deeply grateful to all of you!
What else is new? This past Sunday we kicked off The Westerlies Present, our new residency at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn, with performances by the brilliant Samora Pinderhughes and Theo Bleckmann. We will be at Threes on the second Sunday of every month, presenting our favorite artists from every corner of The Westerlies musical community.
Our mission is to create a bold and personal chamber music experience imbued with the spirit of improvisation, using our four horns to amplify unheard voices, paint new sonic landscapes, and cultivate a global community.
And it’s all thanks to Besterlies like you that we can keep this music and this mission going.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!
