15 Years at a glance
As we approach our 15th Season, we look back on the day in November of 2011 when Andy, Riley, Willem, and Zubin came together in a classroom at Juilliard to play our first notes as a band. It's been a long journey full of opportunities we never could've dreamed of, from Coachella to Carnegie Hall, to playing on a float at the annual "strolling of the heifers" in Brattleboro, Vermont.

With an instrumentation as odd as ours, we immediately realized we’d have to write our own music. What began as a challenge became our greatest strength — to date we’ve composed and arranged over 300 pieces for brass quartet and in the process, documented this work on ten albums.

And through it all, we’ve made it a priority to center educational work in our journey. We’re proud to be Ensemble-in-Residence at The New School, and just last year we reached over 2,500 students in workshops and masterclasses across the country.

All of that brings us to today. We are touring, recordings, commissioning and collaborating with artists ranging from Fleet Foxes and Haley Heynderickx to Aoife O’Donovan and Sam Amidon, in the process creating a new cannon for chamber music and a new model for musicians in the 21st Century.
To today!
